Understanding Nutrition Expertise

Nutrition can be confusing. We are here to clarify the roles of health professionals and help you make informed decisions.

What does a Dietitian do?

Dietitians are university-qualified health professionals who translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for health and disease. They work in hospitals, clinics, and private practices to provide tailored medical nutrition therapy.

  • • Managing chronic conditions like diabetes and renal disease
  • • Clinical nutrition support in hospitals
  • • Paediatric, maternal and community nutrition
  • • Public health advocacy and policy

Dietitian vs Nutritionist

The main difference lies in training and regulation. Both may give nutrition advice, but only Dietitians are qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy in clinical settings.
